Eran Kaplinsky<\/h6>\n

Associate Professor (Law)<\/h6>\n

Professor Eran Kaplinsky teaches in the areas of property law and planning law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Tel Aviv University, a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto, and a Doctor of Juridical Science from the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n

Professor Kaplinsky was previously a Visiting Scholar & Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, an instructor at the Ryerson University School of Urban and Regional Planning, and a Visiting Professor at the Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke. He was also an attorney in Tel Aviv in the areas of municipal law, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation. Professor Kaplinsky is also a research affiliate of the City-Region Studies Centre.<\/p>\n

His teaching and research interests include land use planning and regulation, law and economics, municipal law, and property law.<\/p>\n

Antonella Ceddia<\/h6>\n
Lawyer, Legal Services – City of Toronto – Litigation<\/h6>\n

Antonella Ceddia is a litigation lawyer for the City of Toronto where she defends the City, in human rights challenges against it, including challenges to bylaws. Recently she defended a challenge to Toronto’s zoning by-laws that applied mandatory separation distances to the group home use.<\/p>\n

She has a Bachelor of Laws degree, a Master of Arts degree in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts degree. Before practising law at the City of Toronto, Antonella practiced law at McCarthy Tetrault LLP in Toronto.<\/p>\n

Before law, Antonella’s experience was focussed on two separate areas – politics\/policy and human rights. She was an Issues Analyst at the Ontario Cabinet Office briefing the Premier and Secretary of Cabinet on contentious issues for Question Period and media scrums; Policy Advisor to the Mayor of Toronto, Barbara Hall; Ryerson’s first full time Human Rights Investigator; Human Rights Investigator at the Ontario Human Rights Commission; and, Management Side Consultant in her own human rights consulting practice.<\/p>\n

Antonella is a member of the Practice Advisory Committee to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, a member of the Ontario Bar Association Human Rights and Civil Liberties Executive, and a member of the Board of Directors of Woodgreen Community Services.<\/p>\n
