The primary goal of the association is to promote excellence in planning education, research and practice by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exchanging information concerning curriculum design, pedagogic methods and activities<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating collaborative teaching and research<\/li>\n<li>Promoting student exchanges and field trips<\/li>\n<li>Promoting scholarly research on planning in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Providing opportunities for students and faculty to work along with professional planners, community organizations and other stakeholders on current planning issues and projects<\/li>\n<li>Providing informed comment on the academic accreditation criteria and procedures that are administered by professional associations to ensure that these are appropriate, effective and fair<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating international collaboration in planning education, research and practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Association is governed by a charter. Meetings are held at least once a year to discuss issues affecting planning education and research in Canada, report on current activities, plan new initiatives and elect officers of the Association.<\/p>\n<p>The Association collaborates with the Canadian Association of Planning Students (CAPS) and the Canadian Institute of Planners on activities that promote planning education, research and practice. Students and faculty serve on several CIP committees and the President of the Association is a member (non-voting) of the National Council. Particular attention is given to CIP activities that concern academic affairs, publications, policy research and international programs.<\/p>\n<p>Close collaboration is also maintained with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) in the U.S. and other academic associations throughout the world.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>L\u2019Association des Programmes Universitaires Canadiens en Urbanisme (APUCU) regroupe 18 universit\u00e9s, offrant un total de 24 programmes de formation professionnelle en am\u00e9nagement et en urbanisme reconnus par l\u2019Institut canadien des urbanistes (ICU). L\u2019objectif principal de l\u2019association est de promouvoir l\u2019excellence de l\u2019enseignement, de la recherche et de la pratique de la planification. Ceci est effectu\u00e9 des fa\u00e7ons suivantes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>L\u2019\u00e9change d\u2019information concernant les m\u00e9thodes et activit\u00e9s p\u00e9dagogiques.<\/li>\n<li>Le soutien de l\u2019enseignement et de la recherche collaboratifs.<\/li>\n<li>La promotion d\u2019\u00e9changes \u00e9tudiants et de sorties \u00e9ducatives.<\/li>\n<li>La promotion de la recherche acad\u00e9mique en urbanisme au Canada.<\/li>\n<li>La cr\u00e9ation d\u2019opportunit\u00e9s pour que les \u00e9tudiants et le corps professoral puissent travailler des projets et questions d\u2019actualit\u00e9 avec des urbanistes professionnels, des associations professionnelles et d\u2019autres parties concern\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<li>Le commentaire inform\u00e9 des crit\u00e8res d\u2019agr\u00e9ment acad\u00e9mique et des processus administr\u00e9s par les associations professionnelles, pour assurer que ceux-ci soient appropri\u00e9s, efficaces et justes.<\/li>\n<li>Le soutien de la collaboration internationale en formation, recherche et pratique de l\u2019urbanisme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>L\u2019association est r\u00e9gie par une charte. Des r\u00e9unions sont organis\u00e9es au moins une fois par an pour discuter des questions affectant l\u2019enseignement et la recherche de l\u2019urbanisme au Canada, rendre compte des activit\u00e9s en cours, planifier de nouvelles initiatives, et \u00e9lire les membres de la direction de l\u2019association.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019association collabore avec l\u2019Association canadienne des \u00e9tudiants en am\u00e9nagement et en urbanisme (ACEAU) et l\u2019Institut canadien des urbanistes pour des activit\u00e9s qui promeuvent l\u2019enseignement, la recherche, et la pratique de l\u2019urbanisme. Les \u00e9tudiants et le corps professoral font partie de plusieurs comit\u00e9s de l\u2019ICU et le pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019association est un membre (sans vote) du Conseil national.
