Bruce Kjarsgaard is a Senior Research Scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada with 25+ years experience that range from regional geological mapping to detailed deposit scale studies, including experimental petrology. His forte is solving problems utilizing broad-based igneous petrology methods (including mineralogy, major and trace element mineral chemistry, whole rock geochemistry, experimental petrology, volcanology) of mantle-derived CO2-rich ultramafic rocks (kimberlites, carbonatites) and economic mineralization associated with these rocks.<\/p>\n

Bruce has supervised and co-supervised fifteen successful Ph.D. candidates (Memorial University, Canada; Gutenberg Universitat Mainz, Germany; Durham University, England; Carleton University, Canada; University of Otago, New Zealand; University of Alberta), and multiple M.Sc. and B.Sc. students.<\/p>\n

Bruce obtained his B.Sc. (Specialized Honors Earth Science) at the University of Guelph, Canada, in 1986 and his Ph.D. from The University of Manchester, England, 1990.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
