Adobe Illustrator: convert and import shape files

Map resources (shape files):

• National Topographic System (NTS) Index Maps
• Shape Files (based on NTS index)

How to convert and import shape files into Adobe Illustrator:

• create a new map in ArcMap
• add new layers, using a shape file downloaded from the links above (connect your folder first, if required)
• export the map into a format that you can use in Adobe Illustrator (ai, eps, pdf): File > Export
• import that file into Adobe Illustrator
