Research
Sara’s research is focused on identifying small-scale fluctuations in both the physical and chemical conditions at and just below the sediment-water interface during the deposition of Devonian black shales, specifically in the Canol Formation. The Canol is located in the Northwest Territories and is being looked at as an up-and-coming unconventional reservoir. Detailed interpretations of paleodepositional settings are being developed through comprehensive microfacies analysis, integrated petrographic sedimentological and ichnological analyses.
