Tiffany Playter

Tiffany studies the early Triassic Montney Formation deposited in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. Her research focuses on the oceanic conditions present immediately following the end Permian mass extinction. Acidic and possible euxinic conditions are thought to have existed during this time and through geochemical analysis, these postulates can be explored. Additionally, part of her research focus is on basin correlation of Triassic stratigraphy. Formation tops are often picked differently in Alberta and British Columbia and part of her research is to investigate, for example in the case of the Montney Formation, which pick is the most consistent across the basin.
