The Ichnology Research Group is the legacy of S. George Pemberton’s innovative research in Applied Ichnology. The IRG was founded in the late eighties by George, however he would be the first to admit that the idea of an IRG really came from his grad students. With George, and then myself and JP Zonneveld, the IRG has seen generations of graduate students who have contributed in substantive ways to Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Reservoir Geoscience, Paleontology, Geobiology and of course Ichnology. If you have a look at our alumni list, you will see many researchers who are leaders in academe or industry.
