Research
My name is Qi Chen. I joined the Ichnology Research Group as a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Murray Gingras. My ongoing research focuses on the sedimentology, ichnology and stratigraphy of McMurray Formation near Christina River region. In particular, my study focus on the fluvio-tidal estuarine point bars architecture with the assist of dipmeter logs interpretation, and facies analysis from core logging. This local study will provide details for the establishment of regional depositional trends of Athabasca Oil Sand deposit.
