2020 M.Sc. Geology, University of Cape Town. Thesis title: Thermobarometry and geochemistry of peridotite xenoliths from the southwestern margin of the Kaapvaal craton, South Africa. Supervisor: Dr. P.E. Janney

For my Ph.D. project I will study Type II diamonds and their mineral inclusions from Letseng Diamond Mine in Lesotho and Karowe mine in Botswana. Letseng and Karowe have produced some of the largest gem-quality diamonds ever recorded, and the macro-diamond suites available for my project may provide important information on the environment in which large gem-quality diamonds form. The diamonds will be characterized for their nitrogen characteristics and stable isotope compositions, and their inclusions will be studied using Raman spectroscopy and electron probe microanalysis.
