Frank Han

I joined Dr. Faramarzi’s Watershed Science and Modeling Lab (WSML) as a postdoc fellow in March 2020. Based on my research experience and background, I describe myself as a contaminant fate and transport modeler and environmental chemist. I am particularly interested in developing and perfecting models to simulate the fate and transport of contaminants in the environment, like organics, metals, nanomaterials, and microplastics. In the WSML group, I primarily work on developing hydrodynamic and water quality models to simulate and assess how the possible contaminants from ASOR affect Lower Athabasca River and other rivers around ASOR.

My goal is to use these models to sharpen our minds to understand how these contaminants from industrial processes affect our precious environment in Canada. I also enjoy working with other engineers and scientists with different research backgrounds to solve challenging problems.

In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, reading, writing, church time, and being an amateur soccer coach for young people.
