Amr Gharib

I’m a PhD candidate of the Department of Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. As part of my PhD thesis, I started collaboration with Dr. Faramarzi of the Watershed Science and Modelling Laboratory on 2016. I have used the Alberta-wide hydrologic data of the previously funded project by Alberta Innovates (PAWF-Predicting Alberta’s Water Future), to study flood frequency in Alberta’s watersheds. I’m interested to assess combined effects of threshold selection and parameter estimation of Generalized Pareto Distribution in Alberta. I will model the 2-year to 50-year flood frequency under various climate change model and scenarios across Alberta.
