Quan Cui

I joined Watershed Science and Modeling Laboratory in July 2017 as a post-doctoral research fellow. I obtained my PhD from Beijing Normal University in Environmental Science. My research interests span from ecosystem modelling to water resources management, with a focus on support policy making with developed scientific methodology.

My recent research in WSML is to predict hydrological risks and opportunities for Alberta’s wetlands. My research approaches are developing a mathematical model to explore the relationship between wetlands’ condition and hydrological indicators by spatial statistical analysis methods and predicting wetlands’ future combing SWAT model, GIS and statistic models.

My research in using machine learning models in inflow forecasting, CO2 management and watershed ecosystem health assessment has been published in several high impact journals with a total impact factor of 10.
